User is not allowed to link NIH account Answered
I have followed every step in this instruction, but still failed to link my NIH account to Terra: https://support.terra.bio/hc/en-us/articles/19124069598235-Access-controlled-data-files-by-linking-your-NIH-account-in-Terra
Any one has any insights on this? Thanks a lot!

Hello Chao Di,
Thank you for writing in about your issue. To comply with NIH data access requirements, we can no longer provide access to federal controlled-access to Terra users with non-institutional or non-corporate email addresses. Anyone requesting access to federal controlled-access data must do so with their institution or corporate email account. As such, anyone registered on Terra with a free email account (gmail, etc.) will need to switch to using their institution or corporate email account to link with an external NIH identity provider for access to federal controlled-access data. You can read more about this here: New NIH external identity restrictions for NIH controlled access data
If you have an institutional account, we recommend swapping to using that account in Terra so that you can continue accessing controlled data. Once you are using an institutional account, you should be able to link your NIH account. If you have any further questions, please let us know!
NOTE: If your institutional account is not a Google account, you can create a Google account with the same address using these instructions: How to set up a Terra account with a non-Google email. Please DO NOT create an alias with an existing Google account.
Kind regards,
Jason
