Error creating cloud environment

Hi! I'm trying to create a new cloud environment but stuck with errors. Persistent disk is under 'Creating' status for hours and so the status of the billing project is 'Error'. It doesn't allow me to manually delete - when I tried to delete billing project, I got this error:

{ "source": "leonardo", "message": "Forbidden", "statusCode": 500, "exceptionClass": "class com.google.api.gax.rpc.PermissionDeniedException", "traceId": null }

Can you help me to fix this? Thanks!

    Hi Sehyun Oh,

Thanks for reaching out. Can you please share a screenshot of the error you are receiving and provide the following details so we can take a closer look at your issue?

    • Terra account email address

    • Terra billing project for cloud environment runtime

    • Cluster ID (visit https://app.terra.bio/#clusters, click Details, and see Name field)

    • Screenshot of your cloud environment configuration (gear icon at the top-right of workspace)

    • Approximate time issue first occurred

    Best,
    Samantha

    Hi Samantha,

Can you also help me to delete/clean-up errored-billing projects? I tried swagger, but it still didn't allow me to do that some cases. Thanks!

    Hi Sehyun Oh,

Sorry for the delayed response. I believe the reason why you were getting errors when creating cloud environments was because the Compute Engine API was disabled for your billing project, bioc2020-workshop. I've enabled the API for you so you shouldn't have any issues creating cloud environments now. Please let me know if that's not the case.

As for the billing projects - unfortunately, users cannot delete billing projects in error state using the Terra UI or swagger. This is a known bug and we do have a ticket for this on our engineering team's backlog.

    Best,

    Samantha

    Hi Samantha,

I still have an issue creating cloud environment under the billing project, bioc2020-workshop. Also, the persistent disk is still under 'Creating' status. Can you take a look at these? Thanks!

    Hi Samantha,

Cloud environment of this workspace causes too much errors, so I decided to delete it. But it seems like I can't delete the billing project even though it's not error status. Could you take a look at this? Thanks!

    Hi Sehyun,

Can you share the errors you were receiving when creating the cloud environment? Were they different from the error you were receiving before and are you still having issues creating a cloud environment?

In regards to deleting billing project, what return code are you receiving in swagger? Have you deleted all associated workspaces created under the billing project? Also, are you an owner of the billing project?

    Best,

    Samantha
