Why are broad institute billing accounts associated with my GCP billing account?

Hi

I recently burned through all my $300 free GCD dollars and am in the process of setting up a new project. My only project is ‘test-aedavids-proj’. When I logged into GCP billing see several others. Any idea what they are? Or how I can find out more information about them?

In general, I have found billing, account management, cost tracking, and projections to be very difficult

Kind regards

Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for writing in. Can you share a list of links to all the workspaces that you own, as well as those that have been shared with you (these will be found under "My Workspaces" in the Workspaces page)? Our engineers believe these billing projects are associated with workspaces that have been shared with you, which is why you are able to see them in Google Cloud Console.

    Best,

    Samantha

    Hi Andrew Davidson,

After further investigation and testing, our engineers can confirm that the billing projects you are seeing are associated with workspaces that have been shared with you. Google is set up to show Google Projects in that list for which you have any kind of permissions to. Our engineers are working on a related issue that would enable them to remove the "noise" from the list. Until then, these projects will show up but there's nothing you need to worry about.

    Best,

    Samantha
