googleSubjectID error Registering

Hi,

I saw that several other people have encountered this error as well. I get the error "Cannot update googleSubjectld for user 2695672192988128d404c because user does not exist or the googleSubjectld has already been set for this user". I was able to log in in the past but now get redirected to the registration page. Is there any way to reset my ID so I can register my account again and log in? My Email ID is jadhavt@chop.edu

    Hi Tanaya Jadhav,

Thank you for writing in. Has your institution recently changed its email provider? Did you previously create a Google account with this email address?

    Kind regards,

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

I don't think the institution has changed its email provider. I had previously created a google account with this email address. I am still able to access my google account associated with jadhavt@chop.edu

    Thanks,

    Tanaya

    Hi Tanaya,

Thank you for those details. Are you trying to sign in with the Microsoft or the Google sign-in method?

    Kind regards,

    Jason

Thank you for confirming! When was the last time you were able to sign in successfully? Would you be okay with the account being totally reset if necessary? You will need to have colleagues/collaborators re-add you to the resources you previously had access to if the account is reset.

For more information about the error message, the underlying Google ID for your address has changed for some reason, which is causing an issue in Terra's system because it already has your email address associated with a different Google ID. This commonly happens in cases where someone manually registers the email address as a Google account, and then their institution changes to use Google as its email service provider, causing a new Google ID to be applied to the same email address.

There are other reasons why this might happen, but the key point is that Google has changed the underlying ID associated with the email address.

    Hi Tanaya,

Thank you for confirming. I've reset the account for you. Please sign in to Terra using the Google sign-in method and re-register the account.

    Kind regards,

    Jason
