SSH into submission instance
Is it possible to ssh into a running instance/VM? It's allowed from the notebook but I can't figure out how to do it from a submission. GCP says I don't have the right permissions.

Correct, you CAN with a Notebook VM but unfortunately not for the submissions.
How can we SSH to a Notebook VM? I'm running an analysis within a Jupyter Notebook, and I like to have a terminal open to monitor processes with 'top' and run small bash commands while the Notebook is processing.
Lately, I've had to refresh the shell within the Terra UI/Notebook Tool every 1 minute -- the UI freezes and I refresh in order to interact with the shell.
You won't be able to ssh into the Notebook VM, but you can access the Notebook VM using Terra's UI "Open Terminal" icon. Which it looks like you've already done.
I've found it less likely to freeze when using JupyterLab which the Terra dev team is currently improving and implementing again later this year.
