Frequently logged out

Hi Terra,

Myself and several other users in our lab have noticed an increased frequently of being logged out by Terra over the past couple of months. This almost always happens when opening app.terra.bio in a new window, frequently when working within a workspace in browser, and one lab member reported being logged out while actively working in a notebook that had not autosaved yet.

Is this a known issue? Are we doing anything wrong?

    Hi Brendan,

    Thanks for writing in about this issue! We have had several other users report similar issues over the past few months. How often would you say you are getting logged out of Terra? It's expected that you should need to log back in about every 24 hours. 

    Are you or the other members of your lab part of any Terra groups with timeout policies? You can read more information on this here: Security logout for clinical researchers.

    Lastly, have you tried clearing your cookies and cache to see if this has any impact on the issue?
