Summary
We've identified an issue affecting new users registering in Terra. Many users are receiving the following message when trying to register in Terra:
" Thank you for registering. Your account is currently inactive. You will be contacted via email when your account is activated."
This message does not usually appear when registering and indicates that the email account used has been disabled from registering. The current workaround is for the engineering team to manually enable user email accounts when the issue occurs.

Timeline
May 24th, 2022 3:10 PM ET - Issue Escalated - Additional users began experiencing the error, so the issue was escalated to a service incident. Terra engineers are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
May 20th, 2022 9:45 AM ET - Issue Determined a Bug - Several additional users experienced the same error message and the Terra engineers determined that this was a bug causing user accounts to be disabled.
May 19th, 2022 4:37 PM ET - Issue Reported - A user first reported seeing this error message when trying to register in Terra. Their email was manually re-enabled.
