The following release notes correspond to the dates June 21 to June 27, 2025.
This release also includes back-end updates to workflows, interactive analysis (Notebooks, Galaxy, RStudio), user interface, Data Repository, and Google integrations to improve upcoming features.
DUOS
- We will now notify Signing Officials by email when a user in their institution submits a Data Access Request or a Progress Report. They will also be notified when DARs and PRs are approved by Data Access Committees.
- It is now enforced that the Submitter of a Data Access Request must also be the Primary Investigator.
- Fixed a bug that prevented Signing Officials from being able to issue library cards.
- NIH Library Card Agreement document has been updated to reflect the latest URLs for the NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy and the NIH Data Use Certification
Workflows
- All workflows will now be run on GCP Batch API by default in advance of Google's deprecation of the Life Sciences API.
- Billing Project Owners now have the ability to enable GCP Quota Adjuster, which automatically raises quotas based on usage. Quota Adjuster is highly recommended for GCP Batch, as it supports most Compute Engine quotas, including Managed Instance Groups ("MIG").
Adjuster can be enabled at https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/quotas/configurations?project=<my-project> for all projects that are eligible. New projects may not be eligible immediately. "Can compute" users who are not Owners should ask a Billing Project Owner to enable it for them. - In late July 2025, workflow detail retention will change from 12 months to 6 months. All other aspects of the experience will stay the same, and archived workflows will continue to be available by support request.
