  • Updated

We've identified an issue that impacts users of Hail Cloud Environments. When attempting to create a cloud environment with the Hail image on Terra, users immediately receive an error message "Unknown runtime config type DATAPROC".

Once the error has happened, we have found that users are unable to delete affected environments.

This issue appears to affect both Spark single node and Spark cluster compute types.

Note to writer: the timeline should be in descending order so that the user can find the latest update at the top of the list. See this for an example

April 19, 2023 5:09 PM ET - Issue Resolved - Our engineers have released a fix for the issue. Users should now be able to start Hail environments in their workspaces.

April 19, 2023 2:25 PM ET - Issue Escalated - Issue was escalated to our engineering teams who are currently working to find a resolution.

April 19, 2023 2:04 PM ET - User reported issue -  Terra Support got a user report of the issue and were able to replicate the error.

This issue appears to impact users creating new Cloud Environments using the Hail image.  Environments made from other images appear to be unaffected.
