Service Incident - March 24, 2023 (NIH Account Profile)

We've identified an issue where users are unable to link their Terra profile to their NIH account. When attempting to link, the page that opens loads for a long period of time (20+ minutes) and eventually returns a server error.




March 27, 2023 3:56 PM ET - Issue remediated - Our engineers worked with the NIH Researcher Auth Service (RAS) team to resolve the issue. Users should now be able to link their Terra profile to their NIH account.

March 27, 2023 10:46 AM ET - Root cause identified - Our engineers have identified the cause of the issue and are working on a fix.

March 24, 2023 1:30 PM ET - Issue escalated - Terra Support was able to recreate the issue and escalated to our engineering teams. 

March 24, 2023 10:40 AM ET - User Reported - User wrote into Terra Support with this issue.


It appears that users who already have active NIH Accounts should be unaffected. However, any user trying to create a new NIH account link or renew one could be impacted by this issue.
