Notebook VM service down?

I can't create a spark VM (i.e. Hail environment) -- I get this error when I should be on the config page to choose memory

I deleted my previous runtime, so I have no clusters right now

    Hi Laura,

I did some testing and I was able to confirm the issue within my own account.  I've already raised an escalation to have this looked at, and I'll let you know once I have any updates.

In the meantime, I may have a workaround to create a Hail Environment.  If you create a Cloud Environment using our default configuration, you can delete the Cloud Environment and keep the Persistent Disk. After that, you can create the Hail Environment as normal.  Currently, it seems possible to create a Hail Environment if there's a Persistent Disk present in the workspace.

Please let me know if that workaround works for you.

    Best,

    Josh

    Hi Laura,

I'd like to provide you with an update: our engineering teams are currently looking into this and would like access to the workspace you first experienced the issue.

Would it be possible to share your workspace with support by selecting the share option from the option menu on the right, and then selecting the Share with support toggle?

Once done, could you please provide us with a link to the workspace?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Josh

That's a spiffy new feature!  I shared with support -- you can see the workspace here: https://app.terra.bio/#workspaces/broad-firecloud-dsde-methods/1000G-high-coverage-2019%20Laura

    Hi Laura,

I'm writing to let you know that our engineering teams have resolved this issue.  Could you please try to create a Hail environment now and let me know if the issue's been resolved for you? If so, you can stop sharing your workspace with support.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Josh
