Bug Report: Job manager does not show workflow timing as task is running Not planned

The job manager in Terra only shows a detailed timing diagram (waiting for quota, pulling-image, localizing files, running docker, etc.) upon completion of a task rather than as the task is running; a multi-task WDL will populate the timing diagram as the submission progresses. Knowing where a task is along the submission lifecycle has been very useful to identify and kill run away jobs.

    Hello Brendan,

This sounds like a Feature Request that I can create and pass along to our development teams. We have other items that users have suggested for updates to the workflow diagram such as this post

    Hi Sushma,

Hrm okay. This was a behavior that was in FireCloud. Should I copy and paste this message into the feature requests page? Is there a way to transfer a post?

    Brendan,

I am checking that the behavior you are seeing in Job Manager is intended behavior and if so, definitely a Feature Request would be the best way to go - I will let you know as soon as I hear back.

    Hi Brendan,

I have spoken to our team and at this moment we are not focusing on upgrading the Workflow Diagram as there are other items on the list to ensure stability of the platform. While this is not planned currently, we may revisit the idea at a later time.

Thank you very much for the valuable input!

    Sushma
