File lost all recent updates after storage space upgrade

A script file that I use actively lost all updates of last couple months, and is now in the state it was in the initial stages when I had begun working on it. This is very unexpected, it is the only file as far as I know that has been changed (although it is worrisome that this can happen to any file).
It is as if the file was deleted and restored to an earlier checkpoint. I noticed this happened around the time I increased persistent disk storage. Is there anyway to get my file back to its state that was in this month? I would appreciate any help.
