Resized Persistent Disk Lost Data
Hi, I recently ran into an error in which my cloud environment would be perpetually stuck on "Almost Ready". I initially thought that this was due to limited space on my persistent disk and thus increased the storage by 5GB (to 75GB). However, upon realizing this was not the case, I attempted to revert it back to the original size (70 GB) and ended up losing almost everything on my old persistent disk. The new PD has a lost and found folder that cannot be accessed and I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve any files from the old PD?

Hi Nicholas,
Thank you for reaching out about this issue! When you decreased the size of your persistent disk you should have gotten this message alerting you that a new persistent disk will be cerated for your virtual machine instance, and that all files on your current disk will be deleted.
Are you seeing any data from the original disk? You shouldn't be able to see any data, since you are now using a new persistent disk.
Kind Regards,
Anika
