Documentation for projects that exist independently on the platform including AnVIL, BioData Catalyst, and Human Cell Atlas. Each project on Terra serves a unique research purpose, while still offering the benefits of the Terra platform to every user.

  • AnVIL

    The NHGRI Genomic Data Science Analysis, Visualization, and Informatics Lab-Space, or AnVIL, inverts the traditional model, providing a cloud environment for the analysis of large genomic and related datasets. By providing a unified environment for data management and compute, AnVIL eliminates the need for data movement, allows for active threat detection and monitoring, and provides elastic, shared computing resources that can be acquired by researchers as needed.

  • NHLBI BioData CatalystⓇ

    A community of practice - funded by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute - to collaboratively solve technical challenges to enable NHLBI investigators to find, access, share, store, cross-link, and compute on large-scale data sets.

  • Human Cell Atlas

    Creating comprehensive reference maps of all human cells—the fundamental units of life—as a basis for both understanding human health and diagnosing, monitoring, and treating disease.
