The following release notes correspond to the dates May 17 to May 25, 2025.
This release also includes back-end updates to workflows, interactive analysis (Notebooks, Galaxy, RStudio), user interface, Data Repository, and Google integrations to improve upcoming features.
DUOS
- Progress Reports integrate with NIH authentication to make sure researchers re-authenticate before progress report submission is allowed.
Workflows
- Fixed a bug that, in rare cases, causes workflow tasks to never start running.
- Improved the accuracy of cost estimation for Batch jobs by including the VM startup time cost.
- To increase stability and prevent DockerHub rate limiting, Terra workflows that use DockerHub images now access those images through a GCR mirror.
- GCP Batch is the default backend to run workflows in Terra. Users will still have the option to opt-back to LifeSciences API using Workspace Settings. This is part of the effort to migrate to the successor to GCP LifeSciences API, which will be deprecated in July 2025.
