Data and data tables

  • Simplified TSV formatting (Terra GCP)
You can now omit the entity: prefix and the _id suffix in the first column header in TSVs to import to a data table. The following are all considered equivalent column names to be used as the table identifier:
    • entity:participant_id
    • entity:participant
    • participant_id
    • participant

Terra Data Repo

  • Error message improvements for dataset schema updates
This change will help troubleshooting when using the self-service workflow.
  • Find study details quickly and easily
When searching datasets in the TDR data library, you'll now find a link to a study-specific page with additional study details  front and center.
  • Unexpected 401 error while calling TDR web APIs dataset creation? Bug Fix: Now TDR automatically retries using the Google auth token if it fails the first time.

Workspaces

  • Browse genomic data in DRS URIs, using IGV right in a Terra workspace
Now you can explore VCFs, BAMs, and CRAMs from central data repositories that support DRS, like AnVIL. And you can do it economically -- without copy the data. See How to view IGV tracks of BAM and VCF files in Terra. Note that in phase 1, the data and index files must be in the same row of the data table.
