Service Incident - August 9, 2024 (Jupyter Notebooks)

Summary


We identified an issue in which users of Jupyter Notebooks are frequently seeing a "Notebook changed" error. Selecting to Overwrite or Reload is not successful. Restarting the cloud environment and copying the notebook has been a successful workaround for some users.

August 12, 2024, 12:43 PM - Issue Remediated - Our engineers deployed a fix to production and verified it in the current environment.

August 9, 2024, 10:13 AM— Issue Escalated—Several more users wrote in experiencing the error, leading our engineers to escalate the issue. It still does not appear to be affecting all users. 

August 8, 2024, 11:38 AM—Issue Discovered —A user first wrote in about this issue and our engineers began investigating.


Impact

 

Users may receive "Notebook changed" errors when attempting to work in Jupyter Notebooks. As a workaround, try restarting or recreating your cloud environment and making a copy of your notebook.
